Onboarding New Clinical Providers

It is critically important that the Collaborative Care Team understand and perform their role well for Collaborative Care to succeed. As clinical staff turnover is a reality in primary care, we have developed an onboarding plan for new providers. CHAMP recommends that onboarding be addressed by provider role (Behavioral Health Care Manager, Primary Care Provider, or Psychiatric Consultant), and that all clinical providers complete the outlined plan in preparation for CHAMP Collaborative Care.

Role of CHAMP Clinic Lead in Onboarding

  1. Inform the practice coach and research team about the new provider joining your team.
  2. Review the onboarding plan and work with the practice coach to prioritize tasks and develop a timeline for completion.
  3. Ensure the clinical provider’s time is protected for CHAMP training.

Onboarding by Treatment Arm and Role

New clinical providers should click the appropriate treatment arm for their clinic to access their role-specific training.
